Two policemen died in Quetta , five including a female suicide bomber, were killed in Pasni

A series of near-simultaneous attacks involving gunfire, explosions, armed assaults and suicide bombings was reported across multiple districts of Balochistan on Saturday morning, according to local officials, residents, and security sources. The incidents targeted police units, security forces’ installations, and government facilities, triggering large-scale security responses across the province.

Multiple explosions and sustained gunfire were reported in Quetta, including areas such as Imdad Chowk, Sariab Road, and the Western Bypass. Officials confirmed that a police vehicle was attacked on Sariab Road and subsequently caught fire. Fire Services officials said two police personnel died in the incident. Fire brigade teams later extinguished the blaze.

Similar incidents were reported from Nushki, Dalbandin, Kalat, Mastung, Gwadar, and Pasni. In several areas, witnesses reported prolonged exchanges of gunfire and multiple explosions near security installations and administrative buildings.

Authorities also reported attempts to block or disrupt traffic along major highways, including the M8, N10, N25, N40, N65, and N70. In Kharan and Dhadar, residents reported heavy gunfire and explosions near government and security facilities, prompting residents to remain indoors amid fears of further violence.

“There are multiple attacks ongoing at the moment, although the quantum of the attacks has been hyperbolised, the situation is under control despite an ongoing battle”, a senior security official from Balochistan told The Khorasan Diary.

Initial Reports and Field Accounts

According to preliminary information from local administration officials, police, and eyewitnesses, multiple armed groups launched coordinated attacks at different locations across the province.

In Kalat, attackers targeted the Deputy Commissioner’s headquarters and police lines, triggering an extended firefight. In Dhadar, District Kachi, armed individuals reportedly entered the town, attacked a security forces camp and police station, and barricaded several roads.

In coastal areas, including Gwadar and Pasni, security checkpoints and facilities were reportedly targeted, while in Kharan, explosions and rocket fire were reported near the Red Zone, where security and government offices are located. Damage assessments and casualty figures from several of these locations remain unconfirmed.

Independent verification of the number of attackers, casualties, and the extent of damage was not immediately possible.

Security Forces’ Account

Security officials described the incidents as coordinated militant attacks and said forces responded swiftly across all affected locations.

According to security sources, militants who targeted a police vehicle on Sariab Road in Quetta were engaged by responding units, including personnel from the Frontier Corps, resulting in the deaths of four attackers.

At the Frontier Corps headquarters in Nushki, officials said an attempted fire raid was repelled, forcing attackers to withdraw. In Dalbandin, security sources reported that militants attempted a suicide attack on an FC facility; the area was cordoned off and a firefight was ongoing at the time of reporting.

In Kalat, security officials said attackers targeted the Deputy Commissioner’s office and police lines, but were met with resistance, resulting in what they described as losses to the attackers. Operations were continuing to clear the area.

Officials further stated that a distant fire raid on the Pakistan Coast Guard installation in Pasni was thwarted, and that attacks in Gwadar, including an incident near a labour colony, were met with responses from police and security forces.

Security sources also said grenade and distant fire attacks on posts in Balicha, Tump, and Mastung were repulsed. They stated the overall situation was under control, with reports of two to three security personnel injured.

Security officials additionally alleged external backing for the attackers and said recent counterterrorism operations had resulted in significant militant casualties over the past two days. The TKD’s monitoring team adds that in the early hours of Saturday morning, the Baloch Liberation Army, Jeyand faction said that the second phase of Operation Herof has begun across Balochistan, whereby announcing coordinated attacks.

This is a developing story, and due to a disruption in the communication apparatus, independent verification has been difficult.
