Thirteen hours after the commencement of Operation HEROF Phase-II by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), militant activity continues with the armed assailants sustaining over the highways and placing check posts, while roaming around the cities on motorbikes, alongside active counter-terrorism operations by security forces.

As the security situation has become highly volatile, the district administration has imposed a 24-hour curfew in the Mach area of Kachhi district, Balochistan. The curfew covers major highway localities, including the N-25, N-40, and N-65. Roads have also been closed, while residents have been advised to remain cautious.

Armed assailants continued attempts to breach the government building premises. In addition to targeting security and police compounds and check-posts, militants also attempted to enter Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Quetta district.

At several points, armed assailants established temporary check-posts on main highways, disrupting traffic and targeting pro-government officials. During one such check-post on Sariab Road near the University of Balochistan, Quetta, militants abducted an unidentified individual from a vehicle and later shot him. The incident was captured on video.

In Quetta district, near the Red Zone, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mir Afzal, succumbed to injuries sustained in a blast. According to official estimates, the number of police personnel who succumbed to injuries has risen to nine. Funeral prayers for the fallen police personnel were held at the Police Lines in Quetta.

According to the latest estimates from military media, the number of militants killed in counter-terrorism operations has soared to over 100 collectively, while follow-up operations continue across the province. The estimates shared could not be independently verifiable by The Khorasan Diary, given the evolving situation. 

Condemnations:

The British High Commission in Islamabad, in a statement on its official X account, condemned the “terrorist attacks” across parts of Balochistan, reiterating its stance to “stand with Pakistan” in rejecting terrorism and reaffirming a shared commitment to peace and security.

Multiple buildings were set on fire while armed men were seen parading the roads with heavy weaponry. Footage coming from the round showed that banks were being looted while some banks, including the UBL, were demolished using explosives and later set on fire in the Mand district.

In Quetta district, government infrastructure and buildings were targeted, including Khaliq Shaheed Police Station, Sheikh Zaid Hospital, OPD Civil Hospital Quetta, Hockey Chowk Quetta, the Passport Office, and City Hospital on Zarghoon Road. 17 injured government officials were brought to the CMH Quetta. 

According to local sources, Baloch armed men tried to enter Sheikh Zahid Hospital in Quetta and tried to take over the hospital. The situation remains tense, and the authorities are requested to ensure the safety of patients and staff.

In Mastung district, the DC Complex, Levies Control Room, Central Jail, Tehsil Office, and local banks were targeted by armed assailants.

In Kalat district, the DC Office, Police Lines, FC Camp Kalat, and City and Saddar Police Stations were targeted.

In Nushki district, the DC Complex, Judicial Complex, Central Jail, CTD Police Station, SP House, ADC House, AC House, Police Station Saddar, City Police Station, Police Lines, Cadet College, and the Intelligence Office were targeted.

In Pasni area of Gwadar district, the Naval Air Base Siddique and the MSA Camp were targeted.

In Lasbela a hand grenade explosion was reported at Othal main stop, in which shops were damaged and three civilians, including an elderly person, were injured. The injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital Othal. The mobile network is down in all of Lasbela, including Othal.

According to the security sources, counter and follow-up operations are continuing in the areas. As per the recent updates, at least three dozen militants were killed in the follow-up operations. While 10 security personnel have lost their lives. Along with these casualties, 5 labourers were also killed, including a woman and three children.

Curfew was in place in multiple districts, and there were unconfirmed reports of multiple casualties, but no official word. The situation remained precarious and uncertain as communications lines were disrupted. 

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited the site of the bomb blast to review the security situation. Meanwhile Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has also reached Balochistan.

He met police and security personnel, while IG Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan briefed him on the incident. The Chief Minister appreciated the prompt and effective response of the police and CTD, stating that anti-state elements will not be spared and there will be no compromise on peace in Balochistan.

37 BLA attackers killed, 10 security personnel dead, as widespread clashes reported across 12 districts of Balochistan 

Coordinated attacks by armed militants at more than a dozen locations across Balochistan were repulsed by security forces, official sources said on Tuesday. According to security officials, at least 37 militants were killed, while 10 security personnel lost their lives and several others sustained injuries during the clashes.

The attacks were reported in Quetta, Noshki, Mastung, Dalbandin, Kalat, Kharan, Gwadar, Pasni, Tump, and Buleda, among other areas. Earlier in the day, a Baloch militant group announced the launch of what it termed a multi-coordinated operation, “HEROF 2,” across multiple districts of the province.

In Quetta, a suicide bombing was reported in the red zone, targeting a sensitive area near government installations. Security forces cordoned off the vicinity following the blast, while search and clearance operations were launched. Separately, the Civil Secretariat building came under attack, and a bank in the Bosi Mandi area was destroyed during militant activity in the district.

Heavy gunfire and explosions were reported in Pasni, particularly near Bilal Mosque and close to a Coast Guard camp, where intense clashes between militants and security forces continued for several hours.

In Gwadar district, security forces killed five militants, including a female suicide bomber, during an attempted assault. Civilian casualties were also reported, with nine civilians injured, including children. A child later succumbed to injuries sustained during the violence in Gwadar.

In Turbat, militants fired rocket launchers toward a naval camp from the early hours of the morning. In the Tump area, attackers stormed a police station, seizing one vehicle and seven weapons. During the same incident, retired Tehsildar Abid Baloch was abducted from his residence and later found dead.

Multiple civilians were injured in Tump and the surrounding areas. Among the injured were Ilahi Bakhsh, Sabzal (both from Turbat), and Nabi Bakhsh, a resident of Tando Adam, Sindh. A mortar shell landed on a residential house, injuring Musharraf, son of Musa. In another incident, two brothers, Malik Mero and Qamar Abbas (sons of Abdul Rahim), sustained injuries and were shifted to Turbat Hospital.

In Phal Abad, one child was killed, and two others were injured after shelling. Attacks were also reported on security check posts in Balicha, Rodbin, and Phal Abad, leaving three personnel injured, officials said.

According to the latest information from The Khorasan Diary, armed militants were also spotted in Ornach, Khuzdar district, where the RCD Highway was temporarily blocked. An intense clash was reported near a security camp in the Barah Lak area.

Security forces have launched search, clearance, and intelligence-based operations across affected districts. Authorities said the situation remains under close monitoring.

A series of near-simultaneous attacks involving gunfire, explosions, armed assaults and suicide bombings was reported across multiple districts of Balochistan on Saturday morning, according to local officials, residents, and security sources. The incidents targeted police units, security forces’ installations, and government facilities, triggering large-scale security responses across the province.

Multiple explosions and sustained gunfire were reported in Quetta, including areas such as Imdad Chowk, Sariab Road, and the Western Bypass. Officials confirmed that a police vehicle was attacked on Sariab Road and subsequently caught fire. Fire Services officials said two police personnel died in the incident. Fire brigade teams later extinguished the blaze.

Similar incidents were reported from Nushki, Dalbandin, Kalat, Mastung, Gwadar, and Pasni. In several areas, witnesses reported prolonged exchanges of gunfire and multiple explosions near security installations and administrative buildings.

Authorities also reported attempts to block or disrupt traffic along major highways, including the M8, N10, N25, N40, N65, and N70. In Kharan and Dhadar, residents reported heavy gunfire and explosions near government and security facilities, prompting residents to remain indoors amid fears of further violence.

“There are multiple attacks ongoing at the moment, although the quantum of the attacks has been hyperbolised, the situation is under control despite an ongoing battle”, a senior security official from Balochistan told The Khorasan Diary.

Initial Reports and Field Accounts

According to preliminary information from local administration officials, police, and eyewitnesses, multiple armed groups launched coordinated attacks at different locations across the province.

In Kalat, attackers targeted the Deputy Commissioner’s headquarters and police lines, triggering an extended firefight. In Dhadar, District Kachi, armed individuals reportedly entered the town, attacked a security forces camp and police station, and barricaded several roads.

In coastal areas, including Gwadar and Pasni, security checkpoints and facilities were reportedly targeted, while in Kharan, explosions and rocket fire were reported near the Red Zone, where security and government offices are located. Damage assessments and casualty figures from several of these locations remain unconfirmed. Independent verification of the number of attackers, casualties, and the extent of damage was not immediately possible.

Security Forces’ Account

Security officials described the incidents as coordinated militant attacks and said forces responded swiftly across all affected locations.

According to security sources, militants who targeted a police vehicle on Sariab Road in Quetta were engaged by responding units, including personnel from the Frontier Corps, resulting in the deaths of four attackers.

At the Frontier Corps headquarters in Nushki, officials said an attempted fire raid was repelled, forcing attackers to withdraw. In Dalbandin, security sources reported that militants attempted a suicide attack on an FC facility; the area was cordoned off and a firefight was ongoing at the time of reporting.

In Kalat, security officials said attackers targeted the Deputy Commissioner’s office and police lines, but were met with resistance, resulting in what they described as losses to the attackers. Operations were continuing to clear the area.

Officials further stated that a distant fire raid on the Pakistan Coast Guard installation in Pasni was thwarted, and that attacks in Gwadar, including an incident near a labour colony, were met with responses from police and security forces.

Security sources also said grenade and distant fire attacks on posts in Balicha, Tump, and Mastung were repulsed. They stated the overall situation was under control, with reports of two to three security personnel injured.

Security officials additionally alleged external backing for the attackers and said recent counterterrorism operations had resulted in significant militant casualties over the past two days. The TKD’s monitoring team adds that in the early hours of Saturday morning, the Baloch Liberation Army, Jeyand faction said that the second phase of Operation Herof has begun across Balochistan, whereby announcing coordinated attacks.

With multiple pieces of footage coming out from the area, one video particularly stood out. In the video, Deputy Commissioner Nushki Muhammad Hussain can be seen giving his introduction.

He said, "I am Deputy Commissioner Noshki, and I am in BLA's custody."
