On December 8, 2025, the TTP commander for Ghoriwala tehsil in Bannu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, issued a message addressing the local population in the tehsil.
In the message, the commander, Qari Abdul Rahman addressed the local elders inviting them to set up a jirga and discuss together the recent appeals by locals to set up “peace committees”, which are usually set up by local civilians with the help of authorities to repel Pakistani Taliban raids and attacks.
