Hours after a suicide bomber ripped through a busy Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Abu Saad Al-Khorasani of the Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP) not only claimed responsibility for the attack but also outlined the group's agenda for the future – “Khorasan, the Graveyard of the Crusaders and Land of the Conquerors.”
The August 26, 2021 suicide bombing resulted in the killing of 183 people that included 13 American servicemen. The incident was seen as a premonition of what was about to be another war in Afghanistan, this time between the Islamic State, the Afghan Taliban and anyone who is seen as supportive of the Afghan Taliban.
